The Clean Sleep Checklist

Your quick, visual guide before bed.

Travelling shifts everything - our routines, our senses, our sleep. But even the most beautiful hotel suite can hide silent disruptors: unfamiliar detergents, recycled air, friction-heavy linens, and a dozen tiny variables your skin feels long before you do. A clean night’s sleep isn’t about perfection; it’s about intention. It’s the ritual of creating a sanctuary wherever you land. LATRAVLA PillowWrap was made for this very purpose.

Consider this your pre-bed travel checklist - effortless, elevated, and rooted in the art of looking after yourself.

01. Your Pillow Surface

The most important touchpoint of your night.

Swap hotel cotton for your own 22-momme Mulberry silk PillowWrap infused with antimicrobial silver. A clean, friction-minimising surface keeps your barrier calm, limits breakouts, and supports overnight repair. One small switch, countless downstream benefits.

02. Temperature & Airflow

A room that breathes helps you do the same.

Turn off harsh air-conditioning, open curtains slightly for natural ventilation, and let the room settle into a gentle, breathable coolness. Better airflow means reduced water loss from the skin and deeper, more restorative sleep.

03. Face Cleanse Reset

Travel days cling to the skin: SPF, pollution, plane air, touch.

A double cleanse - gentle oil followed by a mild gel or cream - dissolves buildup without stripping. Pat dry with a clean towel (never the hotel hand towel; detergent residue is real).

04. Hydration Layer

After cleansing, lock everything in.

Mist, serum, hydrating cream. Keep it simple, intentional, and barrier-friendly. Your skin is working overtime in foreign climates; give it the moisture it craves.

05. Surfaces That Touch the Face

Your phone, your hands, your sleep mask.

A quick sanitising wipe for your phone and a fresh PillowWrap for your pillow ensures the fabrics closest to your skin are actually clean - not just hotel-clean.

06. Calm the Nervous System

A quiet ritual cues the body for rest.

Lower the lights, stretch for one minute, take three slow breaths, sip water or a night time tea (not too close to bedtime as it can lead to waking up for the bathroom). Calm skin begins with a calm body.

Another well used resource is the Calm app. It acts as an anchor point that allows me to fall asleep to a sleep story, a meditation or a breathing sequence - this is something I can do anywhere and is part of my night time routine, and my mornings too!

07. Check for Detergent Smell

If the sheets smell strongly perfumed, assume residue.

Your pillow wrap becomes your safest space - OEKO-TEX® fibres free from harsh dyes and the industrial detergents used in commercial laundries.

08. Set Your Sleep Tools

Earplugs, your PillowMask, water, airflow, your PillowWrap - ready.

A small bedtime setup saves you from waking at 2am in a room that isn’t your own.

Clean sleep is the foundation of beautiful travel.

It’s the difference between waking groggy or glowing, reactive or resilient, fatigued or fully alive to the world outside your window. Pack these rituals with you, carry them from city to city, and let every night’s sleep feel intentional - grounded, protected, and unmistakably yours.
