Caring For Your PillowWrap

MADE TO TRAVEL. MADE TO LAST.

Caring for your PillowWrap

Your PillowWrap was designed to go places.

Made from 100% 22-momme mulberry silk, it can be washed, packed and used again and again. A little considered care will help preserve the silk's softness, lustre and performance throughout its travels.

Washing your PillowWrap

KEEP IT COOL + GENTLE

For the simplest care, hand wash your PillowWrap in cool water using a small amount of gentle, silk-friendly detergent.

Prefer the washing machine?

Place your PillowWrap inside a mesh laundry bag and select a delicate or silk cycle at 30°C or below.

Wash with similar delicate fabrics and avoid overcrowding the machine.

Do not bleach, soak for extended periods or use fabric softener.

Washing while travelling

FIVE MINUTES. THEN BACK TO YOUR TRIP.

One of the reasons we created the PillowWrap was to make travelling with your own sleep surface genuinely practical.

To refresh it while you're away:

01 — WASH
Fill a clean basin with cool water and add a small amount of gentle detergent.
02 — RINSE
Gently move the PillowWrap through the water. Don't scrub, twist or wring the silk.
03 — REMOVE EXCESS WATER
Gently press out excess water. For faster drying, lay it flat on a clean towel, roll the towel and lightly press.
04 — AIR DRY
Hang or lay flat to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight or heat.

Lightweight silk dries surprisingly quickly — making it easy to wash during a trip and use again.

How often should I wash it?

There's no rigid rule.

How often you wash your PillowWrap will depend on how you're using it, your skin, your environment and your personal preference.

For travel, we recommend washing it every few uses or whenever it needs refreshing.

The silver-ion technology incorporated into the fabric is designed to support fabric freshness between washes, but it does not replace normal laundering.

Protecting the silk

A FEW THINGS SILK DOESN'T LOVE.

Avoid:

Bleach and stain removers
Fabric softener
Harsh or enzyme-heavy detergents
Hot water
High heat
Tumble drying
Extended soaking
Wringing or twisting
Drying in strong direct sunlight

Treat it gently and your PillowWrap will reward you with many nights of use.

Drying

LET IT AIR DRY.

After washing, gently reshape your PillowWrap and allow it to dry naturally.

Lay flat or hang carefully in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

Avoid the tumble dryer. High temperatures can damage natural silk fibres and unnecessarily shorten the life of your PillowWrap.

Ironing

ONLY IF YOU WANT TO.

Silk naturally develops a relaxed appearance, particularly when travelling, and your PillowWrap doesn't need to be perfectly pressed to perform.

If you prefer it smooth, iron on the lowest silk-appropriate heat setting while the fabric is slightly damp.

Iron on the reverse side and avoid prolonged direct heat.

Packing + storing

READY FOR THE NEXT ADVENTURE.

Once completely dry, loosely fold your PillowWrap and place it inside its LATRAVLA travel pouch.

Always make sure your PillowWrap is completely dry before storing it.

When travelling, keep the pouch somewhere clean and dry in your luggage.

When you're home, store away from prolonged direct sunlight and moisture.
